Suggest a Correction / Submit a Name

Suggest a Correction / Submit a Name — NameLibrary grows through careful research and real-world feedback. If you spot an issue on a page, or you want us to add a name, you can help—quickly and constructively.

Small corrections are valuable. A missing accent mark, a mis-labeled origin, a pronunciation nuance—those “tiny” details are the difference between a page that feels right and a page that quietly misleads.

Option 1: Email (fastest)

If you prefer email, send your correction or submission to:

[email protected]

Option 2: Use the form

If you have a form on this page (recommended), you can paste the same information below into the form fields. Keep it clear. Keep it focused.

A) Suggest a correction (existing page)

Include these details so we can verify the change:

  • Page URL (the exact NameLibrary link)
  • What’s wrong (one or two sentences is enough)
  • Your suggested correction (the corrected meaning/origin/pronunciation/variant)
  • Context (language + region, if relevant)
  • Source or reference (optional but highly helpful)

Tip: If your note is about pronunciation, tell us the language/region. “This is how we say it here” is useful—when we know where “here” is.

B) Submit a name (new page request)

Want a name added? Great. To avoid duplicates and confusion, we need a bit of structure. If you can provide only a few fields, prioritize spelling + origin + meaning.

  • Name spelling (and capitalization)
  • Gender usage (girl / boy / unisex / varies by region)
  • Origin / language (and script if relevant, e.g., Arabic/Hebrew/Greek characters)
  • Meaning (literal meaning if known, plus any traditional interpretations)
  • Pronunciation (simple guide, and regional variant if applicable)
  • Variants (spelling variants, diminutives, related forms)
  • Cultural notes (optional: myth, religion, history, notable usage—only if you can support it)
  • Sources (optional but strongly preferred)

We may edit for clarity. We may shorten, reorganize, or rephrase submissions so they fit our style and sourcing standards. If a claim needs verification, we may hold it until we can confirm it.

What happens after you submit

  • Review: We check for duplicates, obvious errors, and clarity.
  • Verification: If sources conflict or are missing, we may research further.
  • Update: If approved, we update the page or publish a new one.
  • Follow-up: If we need details, we may reply to your email for clarification.

Please don’t submit

  • Private personal data (addresses, IDs, medical info)
  • Copied copyrighted text from books or paid databases
  • Harassment or hate content (we will not publish it)
  • Spam links or promotional material
